From: Dongguan Jiutai Textile Co., Ltd. Post date: 2019-03-18

From August 11 to 15, a group of 33 people from the Central Asian Investment Research Group led by Sun Ruizhe, President of the China Textile Industry Federation, came to Uzbekistan, a cotton-producing country, which accounts for more than half of the total population of Central Asia, after finishing the industry research on Kazakhstan.
Uzbekistan is a "double landlocked country" in the hinterland of Central Asia, with a territory of 447,400 square kilometers and a population of 32,121,000. It is rich in "four gold": gold, platinum (cotton), Uzbekistan (oil), Blue Gold (natural gas), agriculture, mining and textile industries. The country has a sunshine time of more than 300 days a year, and has a rich variety of agricultural products. In 2016, the heads of state of China and Ukraine jointly decided to upgrade bilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
Uzbekistan has abundant cotton resources and cotton planting is the main agricultural sector, but the production and processing capacity downstream of the industrial chain is weak. The state implements unified management of cotton planting, acquisition and sale, and purchases in cash (US dollars). According to data from the website of the United States Department of Agriculture, in the cotton year 2016/2017, Uzbekistan planted 17.7 million mu of cotton and produced 812,000 tons of cotton, making it the sixth largest cotton producer in the world.
China-Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Cooperation Forum
On August 15, the China-Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with more than 100 people attending the forum. In his speech, ILKHOM KHAYDAROV, Chairman of the Textile and Garment Association of Uzbekistan, said that the Uzbek government attached great importance to the visit of the delegation of the China Textile Federation to Uzbekistan. The textile industry has made a great contribution to Uzbekistan's employment. At the same time, Uzbekistan has a good innate advantage in developing the textile industry. First, Uzbekistan is a big cotton-producing country in the world with abundant raw Third, in the past two years, Uruguay has made outstanding achievements in reform and development, has rich experience in international cooperation, and has a promising future in the field of investment, especially in the textile industry. ILKHOM KHAYDAROV expressed the hope that China could further develop its investment cooperation with Ukraine.
Sun Ruizhe also pointed out in his speech that Ukraine, with today's development, will surely become a big and powerful country in the textile industry in the future. China is willing to join in this great development process, share our cooperation experience with foreign countries, and suggest that Ukraine focus on developing chemical fiber and blending industries and integrate green development into them. Subsequently, Sun Ruizhe made a keynote speech on "Achievements and Vision of China's Textile Industry", and made a detailed introduction to the Ukrainian government, associations and more than 30 local enterprises from three aspects: achievements, advantages and vision.
Xu Yingxin, executive vice chairman of the China Textile Federation and executive director of the China textile international capacity cooperation enterprise alliance, also delivered a keynote speech on the topic of "achievements in the construction of China's textile industry along the way and prospects for cooperation between China and Ukraine". He believed that China and Ukraine should continue to strengthen economic and trade exchanges between the two countries and make full use of their respective product advantages to meet the high demand of the two markets and continue to promote the two countries' spinning. In the field of weaving and apparel, we should cooperate in production capacity, establish symbolic projects, complement upstream and downstream industrial chains, and jointly promote industrial development.
The Vice-Chairmen of Uzbekistan National Investment Committee and Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Association also made reports on the advantages of Uzbekistan's investment and development and the current situation of Uzbekistan's textile and garment industry. After the meeting, Sino-Ukrainian entrepreneurs started cooperation and negotiation in the form of B2B. UzReport, the local television media in Uzbekistan, conducted an on-site interview with Xu Yingxin. The major Uzbek governments and official media made timely reports on the forum.
Visit to Kashkadaria, Uzbekistan's largest cotton-producing state
During its research in Uzbekistan, the delegation of the China Textile Federation visited the southern state of Kashkadariya and held meetings with Babakulov Sa'dulla Abdullaevich, the deputy governor in charge of investment, and more than 20 local enterprises in the state capital Karshi. During the meeting, the deputy governor mentioned that Kazakhstan is the largest cotton-producing state in Ukraine, with lint production of 200,000 tons per year. Before the investment and operation of Litai Textile of Jinsheng Group, the cotton processing capacity of Kazakhstan was only 7%, and after Litai was put into operation, it increased to 30%. At present, the spinning of Kazhou has been gradually done, but the deep processing ability of garments is still very deficient. At the same time, there is a great demand for chemical fibers and blends. It is hoped that China's future investment will promote the development of Kazhou in this respect.
In the conversation, Ruizhe said that in the historical development of China's textile industry, as a mother industry and pioneer industry, it has played a very important role in China's economy and manufacturing industry. Although Uzbekistan's textile industry started late, it has a high starting point, which reflects the determination of the Uzbek government and the wisdom of the people. At present, China-Ukraine intergovernmental cooperation is close, and economic cooperation is gradually strengthened. Open-ended exchanges and cooperation will surely bring more harvest and development opportunities to both countries.
